DOEE Lic. No. MR-2025-I-0259 · IICRC AMRT
Licensed mold remediation in Washington, DC & the DMV.
From inspection to remediation to written clearance — performed under a DOEE license and IICRC microbial certification, with the documentation landlords, boards, and buyers can rely on.
Why licensing matters
In DC, mold over 10 square feet isn't a handyman job. It's a licensed one.
District law requires that indoor mold assessment and remediation be performed or supervised by a DOEE-licensed professional whenever growth in an affected area reaches 10 square feet or more — roughly a 2 ft × 5 ft patch. For rental housing, the obligations stack up fast:
- 7 days for a landlord to inspect after written tenant notice of suspected mold
- 30 days to remediate the condition after that inspection
- 3-year disclosure of past contamination to prospective tenants — unless it was remediated by a licensed professional
That last point is why the license on the paperwork matters as much as the work itself: a licensed remediation with clearance documentation is what closes the issue out in your file.

Our process
Inspection to clearance, one accountable team
Inspect & scope
A licensed inspector documents visible growth, takes moisture readings, identifies the water source, and delivers a written, line-item scope — not a vague lump sum.
Contain
The work area is sealed under negative pressure with HEPA filtration, protecting the rest of the unit and its occupants while work is underway.
Remediate
Affected materials are removed and disposed of properly; remaining surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and treated. The moisture source is corrected — because remediation without source repair is a repeat visit.
Verify & clear
Post-remediation verification confirms the work met the scope. You receive a written clearance package with photos — the document that satisfies files, boards, and closings.
Rebuild
As a licensed general contractor, we restore drywall, insulation, trim, and paint ourselves — no handoff to a second company, no gap in accountability.
